Owen Chow Ka-shing is a pro-democracy activist who was actively involved in the 2019 anti-extradition bill protests. In 2019, Chow was a candidate in the District Council elections. Chow also ran in the pro-democracy primaries for the 2020 Hong Kong Legislative Council election in which he came fifth in New Territories East and secured the nomination to run in the general election.   • Charge: Conspiracy to commit subversion under the National Security Law

    Incident: Organising and participating in unofficial primary elections for the Hong Kong Legislative Council in July 2020

    Sentencing: 7 years, 9 months’ imprisonment (HKFP)
