Gwyneth Ho Kwai-lam is a journalist, previously working for Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) and various media outlets including Stand News, The Reporter and BBC.

Ho became a prominent frontline reporter during the 2019 pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, being one of the reporters inside the Legislative Council complex when protesters stormed into the building in July 2019. Ho was also present during the 7.21 Yuen Long MTR mob attack, where she live-streamed the incident and suffered from minor injuries. Her video footage went viral.

  • Charge: Conspiracy to commit subversion under the National Security Law

    Incident: Organising and participating in unofficial primary elections for the Hong Kong Legislative Council in July 2020

    Sentencing: 7 years’ imprisonment (HKFP)

  • Charge: Knowingly participating in an unauthorised assembly

    Incident: Tiananmen Square Massacre vigil on 4 June 2020

    Sentencing: 6 months’ imprisonment
