Ivan Lam Long-yin and Joshua Wong met in primary school. In 2011, at ages 16 and 14 respectively, they founded the now disbanded Scholarism with the objective to reform the school curriculum to prevent “patriotic education”. In 2012, the duo was joined by Agnes Chow Ting and led a massive protest against the introduction of national education in primary education. Charge: Inciting others to participate in unlawful assembly and knowingly participating in unauthorised assembly
Incident: Protest outside Hong Kong Police Force headquarters on 21 June 2020
Sentencing: 7 months of imprisonment and released on 2022 (HKFP)
Charge: Conspiracy to collusion with a foreign country or with external elements to endanger national security
Incident: Lam was suspected of receiving funds from operating companies, social platforms and mobile applications to support people who have fled overseas and continue to engage in activities that endanger national security.
