Yuen Wai-kit 袁偉傑

Former principal, Union Hospital School of Nursing

Yuen Wai-kit was a frontline nurse at a public hospital in Hong Kong before becoming the former principal of the Union Hospital School of Nursing. Yuen was also a graduate of the school. 

Yuen was a candidate in the “35+” unofficial primary elections in July 2020, in which he contested the health sector candidacy. Yuen’s campaign was based on improving the welfare of medical workers in the health sector. Yuen was arrested in January 2021 for his participation in these primary elections, but was not charged.
