Joseph Zen Ze-kiun served as the sixth Bishop of the Catholic Church of Hong Kong. Zen was appointed as Cardinal in 2006, and has been outspoken on issues regarding human rights and political freedoms, including freedom of religion or belief. On 11 May 2022, Zen was charged with failing to apply for registration or exemption from registration for the Relief Fund within the required time.

  • Charge: Failing to apply for registration or exemption from registration within the specified time

    Incident: As a Trustee of the 612 Humanitarian Relief Committee, he was arrested for failing to apply for registration or exemption from registration within the required time.

  • Charge: Collusion with a foreign forces under the National Security Law

    Incident: On 11 May 2022, Hui was arrested under the National Security Law for his involvement in the 612 Humanitarian Relief Fund.
