WATCH: Benedict Rogers spoke at the The Alternative Olympic Committee Session
Hong Kong Watch Chief Executive Benedict Roger spoke at the GENOCIDE GAMES | BEIJING 2022: THE ALTERNATIVE OLYMPIC COMMITTEE SESSION on 11 March 2021. He said:
“I certainly believe that the Winter Olympics 2022 shouldn’t be held in Beijing and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) should move the games from Beijing to another country that would be an acceptable host.
But if the IOC won’t move on that then we should be encouraging a diplomatic boycott. No government representatives, leaders, VIPs from as many countries as possible should go.
We should have a consumer boycott, spectators shouldn’t go to the games. We should have pressure on corporate sponsors of the games.
If it does take place in Beijing, we should use the opportunity to protest and shine a spotlight on China’s genocide, crimes against humanity, breach of international law and grave human rights violations.”
