LISTEN: Benedict Rogers' Interview on StratNews Global

Hong Kong Watch Chief Executive Benedict Roger was interviewed by StratNews Global on Beijing voted for changes to Hong Kong’s electoral system on 11 March 2021. He said:

“The new changes to Hong Kong’s electoral laws suggested by Beijing is the complete dismantling of whatever remains of any form of democracy.

There seems to be a desire by Xi Jinping to show total control and remove any fig leaves of democracy that previously existed and it represents the complete final destruction of ‘One Country, Two Systems’ and of the promises that were made to the people of Hong Kong under the Sino-British Declaration.

There was no need for it, Beijing was already in control, but it seems to be their desire to pursue a vindictive vendetta against any form of dissent and any pro-democracy politicians.”
