Hong Kong Watch attends Lunar New Year reception on Parliament Hill

Yesterday, Hong Kong Watch’s co-founder and Chair of Trustees Aileen Calverley attended the Liberal Caucus’ Lunar New Year Reception on Parliament Hill, at the invitation of Jean Yip MP. Over 12 MPs attended the event, including Minister Mary Ng and Paul Chiang MP.

The reception welcomed over 300 community leaders and members from across Canada, including Hong Kong Watch volunteers and Canadian Hong Konger YouTuber CanMen, to celebrate Lunar New Year.

The event was hosted by Jean Yip MP. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered keynote remarks, to wish guests a prosperous Year of the Snake.

The crowd enjoyed a range of festive performances, including a lion dance, tai chi and kung fu showcase, and music and dance performance. Rounds of applause resounded across the hall as guests enjoyed the festivities.

香港監察出席加拿大自由黨農曆新年慶祝活動

昨天，香港監察共同創辦人兼信託董事會主席Aileen Calverley應加拿大國會議員葉嘉麗（Jean Yip）的邀請，出席自由黨在渥太華國會山莊舉行的農曆新年慶祝活動。超過12位國會議員出席盛會，包括內閣部長伍鳳儀（Mary Ng）和國會議員蔣振宇（Paul Chiang）。

超過300位社區領袖和成員從全加各地前來赴會歡慶蛇年，當中包括香港監察義工和加拿大港人YouTuber「住加男人 CanMen」。

葉議員為大會主持人，加拿大總理杜魯多（Justin Trudeau）在台上發表新年賀辭，恭祝來賓蛇年亨通。

大會為來賓獻上豐富精彩的節目，包括太極拳、功夫、音樂及舞蹈表演。總理杜魯多用繩子繫上寓意「生財」的生菜引領舞獅採青。現場掌聲不斷，來賓在熱鬧喜慶的氣氛下共賀新歲。
