29 December:

  • Chung Pui-kuen, former chief editor of Stand News, Chan Pui-man, wife of Chung and former associate publisher at Apple Daily, Ronson Chan, chair of Hong Kong Journalist Association and deputy assignment editor of Stand News, Margaret Ng, barrister and former board member of Stand News, Denise Ho, singer and former board member of Stand News and Patrick Lam, chief editor of Stand News, aged 34-73, were arrested for conspiracy to produce seditious publications. Searches of arrestees' respective residences and the Stand News offices also took place. (SCMP)

  • Police ordered the arrest of Tony Tsoi, founder of Stand News, who has reportedly moved to Australia. (Dim Sum Daily)

22 December:

  • Simon Leung, ex-standing committee member of the Hong Kong Alliance, was charged with refusal to comply with police request on national security probe and sentenced to 3 months of imprisonment. The national security police made a data request to the Hong Kong Alliance in August 2021, accusing them of working as an “agent” for foreign entities. Leung and four other standing committee members of the Alliance refused to comply with the police request in September 2021. (HKFP)

17 December:

  • Lau Chi-hei, aged 17 and a secondary school student, was charged with arson and possessing anything with intent to destroy or damage property and sent to detention centre. Lau was among five people accused of throwing Molotov cocktails in Mong Kok in February 2020. He was arrested after police found nine petrol bombs, a bottle of inflammable and corrosive liquid, petrol, liquified petroleum gas and other items. (HKFP)

15 December:

  • 3 men and 1 woman, including former CUHK student union president Jacky So Tsun-fung, aged 22-58, were accused by the ICAC of sharing online post made by former lawmaker Ted Hui Chi-fung which incited others to cast a blank ballot in the upcoming “patriots only” Legislative Council election on December 19 for inciting another person not to vote or to cast invalid votes. 13 December:

  • For their involvement in the banned Tiananmen Massacre vigil in 2020,

    • Lee Cheuk-yan, chairperson of Hong Kong Alliance), was charged with organising, inciting and participating in unlawful assembly and sentenced to 14 months of imprisonment

    • Richard Tsoi, liquidator of Hong Kong Alliance, was charged with inciting and participating in unlawful assembly and sentenced to 12 months of imprisonment

    • Jimmy Lai, founder of Next Media, was charged with inciting unlawful assembly and sentenced to 13 months of imprisonment

    • Leung Yiu-chung, former lawmaker, was charged with inciting and participating in unlawful assembly and sentenced to 9 months of imprisonment

    • Simon Leung, executive committee member of Hong Kong Alliance, was charged with inciting and participating in unlawful assembly and sentenced to 9 months of imprisonment

    • Chow Hang-tung, vice-chairperson of Hong Kong Alliance, was charged with inciting and participating in unlawful assembly and sentenced to 12 months of imprisonment

    • Wu Chi-wai, former lawmaker, was charged with participating in unlawful assembly and sentenced to 4 months and 2 weeks of imprisonment

    • Gwyneth Ho, activist, was charged with participating in unlawful assembly and sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment. (HKFP)

10 December:

  • 2 men and 1 woman, aged 22 to 57, were accused by the ICAC of reposting an online post inciting others to cast a blank ballot in the upcoming “patriots only” Legislative Council election on December 19 for inciting another person not to vote, or to cast invalid vote, by activity in public during election period. (HKFP)

7 December:

  • Siu Cheung-lung, aged 33 and an administrator of a Hong Kong Telegram channel, was charged with incitement to commit violence, arson, assault with intent, rioting, administering poison with intent to injure and committing nuisance in public and sentenced to 58 months of imprisonment. Siu was accused of operating a public Telegram channel, where he posted around 1,200 messages inciting others to use “fire magic” and “pouring acid on blue ribbons”. (HKFP)

29 November:

  • ICAC issued arrest warrants for Ted Hui, former lawmaker and Yau Man-chun, former district councillor, both aged 39 and in self-exile, for urging Hong Kong people on social media to cast blank of invalid ballots in the Legislative Council election in December for inciting another person not to vote, or to cast invalid votes. 23 November:

  • Tony Chung, aged 20 and former convenor of Student Localism, was charged with secession and money laundering and sentenced to 43 months of imprisonment. (HKFP)

  • Lai Chun-lok, aged 29 and a protestor, was charged with rioting and sentenced to 28 months of imprisonment. Lai was accused of throwing a water bottle at police during protest at New Town Plaza in Sha Tin on 14 July 2019. (HKFP)

12 November:

  • Choi Chun-man, ex-police officer, aged 26, was charged with acting with “seditious intent” by creating social media posts with an alleged aim to “incite hatred” against the government and “raise discontent” among Hongkongers for publishing seditious speech. (HKFP)

11 November:

  • Ma Chun-man, aged 31 and a food delivery worker, was charged with inciting secession and sentenced to 69 months of imprisonment. Ma was accused of inciting secession by making numerous pro-independence speeches on at least 20 public occasions and on social media platforms between August and November 2020. (HKFP)

10 November:

  • 2 men and 1 woman were arrested by the ICAC for urging voters to cast blank ballots on December 19 in the Legislative Council election for inciting another person not to vote, or to cast invalid votes. (HKFP)

  • Wan, aged 22 and a student protestor, was charged with 2 charges for rioting and sentenced to 40 months of imprisonment. Wan was accused of damaging station property and threatening passers-by with a cane during the storming of Prince Edward station on 31 August 2019. (HKFP)

5 November:

  • 1 man, aged 33, was arrested in connection with an incident in which more than 30 Chinese flags were burned or slashed in Wong Tai Sin district around National Day for flag desecration, criminal damage, arson. (Yahoo News)

2 November:

  • 3 men and 1 woman, aged 61 to 85, were arrested for displaying a banner demanding genuine universal suffrage near Mong Kok's Broadway Cinema for seditious intent. (HKFP)

27 October:

  • Figo Chan, aged 25 and former spokesperson of Civil Human Rights Front, was charged with knowingly participating in an unlawful assembly and sentenced to 3 months of imprisonment. Chan was accused of participating in unauthorised protest on 15 September 2019. (HKFP)

  • Tse Shun-shing, aged 31and a construction worker, was charged with assaulting the police and taking part in unlawful assembly outside Grand Plaza in Mong Kok on 31 October 2019, as well as grabbing shotgun from police officer. Tse was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment. (HKFP)

21 October:

  • Wong Cheuk-lai, aged 24 and a technician, was charged with arson, attempted arson and insulting Chinese national flag and was sentenced to 55 months of imprisonment. Wong was accused of taking down a Chinese flag in Tung Chung swimming pool which was desecreated publicly by other protestors. Wong was also accused of setting fire to water barricades, banners and other objects outside the pool on 1 September 2019. (HKFP)

19 October:

For their participation in the riot on 11 November 2019 at CUHK near its No.2 Bridge, where students attempted to paralyse the highway by occupying the overpass and throwing objects to obstruct traffic below,

  • Lau Chun-yuk, aged 23 and a CUHK student protestor, was charged with rioting and using facial coverings during an unlawful assembly, and was sentenced to 57 months of imprisonment.

  • Ko Chi-pan, aged 23 and a CUHK student protestor, was charged with rioting and using facial coverings during an unlawful assembly, and was sentenced to 57 months of imprisonment.

  • Chan Lik-sik, aged 20 and a CUHK student protestor, was charged with rioting and using facial coverings during an unlawful assembly, and was sentenced to 57 months of imprisonment.

  • Hui Yi-chuen, aged 23 and a CUHK student protestor, was charged with rioting, using facial coverings during unlawful assembly and possession of offensive weapons or tools for unlawful purposes, and was sentenced to 57 months of imprisonment.

  • Foo Hoi-ching, aged 23 and a CUHK student protestor, was charged with rioting, using facial coverings during unlawful assembly and possession of offensive weapons or tools for unlawful purposes, and was sentenced to 59 months of imprisonment. (HKFP)

18 October:

For their involvement in a banned protest on 1 July 2020 against the National Security Law, they were charged with inciting others to participate in, organising and knowingly taking part in unlawful protest and given the following sentencing:

  • Tang Sai-lai, member of the League of Social Democrats, was sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment

  • Tsang Kin-shing, member of the League of Social Democrats, was sentence to 10 months of imprisonment

  • Chui Chi-kin, former district councillor, was sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment

  • Wu Chi-wai, former chairman of the Democratic Party, was sentenced to 10 months of imprisonment

  • Eddie Chu, activist and a former Legislative Council member, was sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment

  • Leung Kwok Hung, a former Legislative Council member, was sentenced to 8 months of imprisonment

  • Figo Chan, former spokesperson of the Civil Human Rights Front, was sentenced to 12 months of imprisonment. (HKFP)

15 October:

  • Yau Wang-tat, aged 28 and a postgraduate science student, was charged with taking part in an unlawful protest and sentenced to 1 year of imprisonment. Yau was accused of taking party in the Tsuen Wan protest on National Day in 2019. Yau also helped Tsang Chi-kin who was shot by the police in the chest that day. (HKFP)

  • 1 man, aged 49, was arrested in connection with an incident in which more than 30 Chinese flags were burned or slashed in Wong Tai Sin district around National Day for flag desecration, criminal damage, arson. (SCMP)

27 September:

  • Tung Pak-fai, aged 31, was charged with wounding with intent and sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment. Tung stabbed pro-Beijing lawmaker Junius Ho at Tuen Mun street booth in 2019. (HKFP)

22 September:

  • Wong Yuen-lam, Spokesperson of Student Politicism, aged 19, was arrested for conspiracy to incite subversion for their welfare and support programmes for political prisoners, street booths and social media content. Police took away boxes of materials where the organisation's storage unit was located, including books, face masks, chocolate and biscuits. (Yahoo News)

20 September:

  • Wong Yat-chin, Convenor of Student Politicism, Chan Chi-sum, Secretary General of Student Politicism and Jessica Chu Wai-ying, former spokersperson of Student Politicism, aged 18-20, were arrested for conspiracy to incite subversion for their welfare and support programmes for political prisoners, street booths and social media content. Police took away boxes of materials where the organisation's storage unit was located, including books, face masks, chocolate and biscuits. (Al Jazeera)

9 September:

  • Tsui Hon-kwong, Committee member of Hong Kong Alliance, aged 72, was arrested after publicly refused a police demand for information as part of a national security probe into the organisation for failing to comply with notice to provide information. (HKFP)

7 September:

  • Chow Hang-tung, vice chair of the Hong Kong Alliance, and Simon Leung, Tang Ngok-kwan and Chan To-wai, committee members of the Hong Kong Alliance, aged 36-57, were arrested after they publicly refused a police demand for information as part of a national security probe into the organisation for failing to comply with notice to provide information. 1 September:

For their involvement in a demonstration on 20 October 2019 in Kowloon,

  • Cyd Ho, aged 67 and former member of the Legislative Council, was charged with charged with organising and conspiring to incite others to attend an unlawful protest and sentenced to 14 months of imprisonment

  • Albert Ho, aged 69 and former chairman of Hong Kong Alliance, was charged with conspiring to incite others to attend an unlawful protest and was sentenced to 16 months of imprisonment

  • Yeung Sum, aged 73 and former member of Legislative Council, was charged with organising an unlawful protest and was sentenced to 11 months of imprisonment

  • Leung Kwok-hung, aged 65 and former member of Legislative Council, was charged with organising and conspiring to incite others to attend an unlawful protest and was sentenced to 16 months of imprisonment

  • Figo Chan, aged 25 and former spokesperson of Civil Human Rights Front, was charged with organising and conspiring to incite others to attend an unlawful protest and was sentenced to 16 months of imprisonment

  • Avery Ng, aged 44 and former chairperson of the League of Social Democrats, was charged with organising and conspiring to incite others to attend an unlawful protest and sentenced to 12 months of imprisonment

  • Raphael Wong, aged 32 and former chairperson of the League of Social Democrats, was charged with charged with organising and conspiring to incite others to attend an unlawful protest and was sentenced to 14 months of imprisonment. (HKFP)

31 August:

  • Mr. Leung, aged 34 and a reporter for online news outlet Egg Egg Club, was arrested near Prince Edward MTR station on the second anniversary of police violence against protestors on 31 August 2019 for disorderly conduct. (HKFP)

  • Mr. Leung, aged 50, was detained on suspicion of “verbally criticising” an officer after he was stopped and searched for not properly wearing a face mask under Covid-19 regulations for disorderly conduct. (HKFP)

23 August:

  • Max Chung, aged 41, was arrested for alleged role in organising a banned march in Yuen Long in protest of mob attack at the town’s MTR station on 21 July 2019 for organising and taking part in an unauthorised assembly. (HKFP)

18 August:

  • Kinson Cheung King-sang, Anthony Yung, Charles Kwok Wing-ho, Chris Todorovski, members of the HKU Student Union and aged 18-20, were arrested for allegedly advocating terrorism in a motion they passed that mourned for a man who stabbed police officer on July 1 and subsequently committed suicide for advocating terrorism. 6 August:

  • Kim Chiang Chung-sang, property manager aged 41, was arrested for displaying posters linked to the trial of activist Tong Ying-kit at a kindergarten in Sheung Shui and inside a toilet at High Court. (HKFP)

2 August:

  • Anthony Wong Yiu-ming, singer aged 59, and Au Nok-hin, aged 34 and a democratic politician, were arrested by the ICAC after Wong performed at a campaign rally for Au before a Legislative Council by-election in 2018 for Violated the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance (ECICO). 30 July:

  • Tong Ying-kit, aged 24, was charged with inciting secession and terrorist activities and sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment. Tong was arrested on 1 July 2020 for driving a motorcycle with flag reading "Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times" into three police officers during Wan Chai demonstration. (HKFP)

  • 1 man, aged 40, was arrested for waving a British colonial Hong Kong flag while urging others to “boo” the Chinese anthem as well as chanting slogans during a livestream of an awards ceremony from the Tokyo Olympic Games at a mall in Kwun Tong for insulting the national anthem. (HKFP)

22 July:

  • 2 men and 3 women, who were members of the Hong Kong Speech Therapists General Union, aged 25-28, were arrested in connection with the publication of three children's picture books titled "The Guardians of Sheep Village," "The Garbage Collectors of Sheep Village" and "The 12 Heroes of Sheep Village" for conspiring to publish seditious publications. 21 July:

  • Lam Man-chung, former executive editor of Apple Daily, aged 51, was arrested for conspiring to collude with foreign countries or foreign forces to endanger national security. (HKFP)

  • Chan Pui-man, former associate publisher of Apple Daily, Fung Wai-kong, senior editorial writer at Apple Daily, and Li Ping, former editorial writer at Apple Daily were re-arrested for conspiring to collude with foreign countries or foreign forces to endanger national security. (The Standard)

15 July:

  • Alexandra Wong, aged 65, was charged with assault and sentenced to 1 month of imprisonment. Wong was convicted of pushing security guard at the High Court lobby in January 2019. (HKFP)

12 July:

  • 1 woman and 4 men, aged 15-37 and including a teenager, were arrested for alleged plans to launch a city-wide bombing campaign targeting transport infrastructure and court buildings for organising and planning terrorist activities. (HKFP)

9 July:

  • A man, aged 36, was arrested for publishing a post on an online form on 2 July that allegedly advocate violence for inciting others to commit crime of having intent to injure others and inciting violence. (StandNews)

  • 2 men were arrested for drawing graffiti in a pedestrian tunnel in Tuen Mun that referenced the July 1 stabbing incident for criminal damage. (RTHK)

6 July:

  • 4 men and 5 women, who were group members of Returning Valiant, aged 15-39 and including 6 teenagers, were arrested for allegedly attempting to make the explosive triacetone triperoxide (TATP) in a homemade laboratory in a hostel to bomb courts, tunnels, railways and bins for engaging in terrorist activity. 5 July:

  • A man, aged 34, was arrested for publishing statements, including "cutting police officers", on online forums for inciting others to commit crime of having intent to injure others. (Inmedia HK)

4 July:

  • 1 woman, aged 20, and 1 man, aged 26, were arrested for social media messages allegedly inciting others to murder police officers and commit arson on police premises for inciting violence. (TW Apple Daily)

1 July:

  • 5 men and 6 women, including Wong Yat-chin, Convenor of Student Politicism, and Chan Chi-sum, Secretary General of Student Politicism, aged 18 to 20, were picked up by the police in Mongkok before a planned street booth while they were distributing leaflets for distributing seditious publication. (HKFP)

  • 1 woman, aged 26, was arrested for possession of offensive weapons or tools for unlawful purposes after the police found a box cutter in her bag outside SOGO mall where people were mourning the death of man who stabbed an officer on July 1 before killing himself.. (SCMP)

30 June:

• Chow Hang-tung, Vice-chair of Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, aged 36, was re-arrested after being arrested in early June for inciting illegal assembly, which was scheduled to take place July 1. (VOA News)

27 June:

• Fung Wai-kong, Apple Daily senior editorial writer, aged 57, was arrested at the airport for violating the national security law (Guardian).

25 June:

• A Baptist University student, aged 21, was sentenced to 9 weeks of jail for possession of a screwdriver on 13 November 2019 in Kowloon City (Stand News).

23 June:

• Yeung Ching-kee ("Li Ping"), Apple Daily lead opinion writer, aged 55, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to collude with a foreign country or external forces to endanger national security (Guardian).

• 2 men, aged 21 & 23, were sentenced to 26 months of jail for assaulting a police officer on 13 November, 2019 (RTHK, Stand News).

22 June:

• A man, aged 40, was arrested for hanging a "Liberate Hong Kong" flag on the laundry rack outside his flat in Mong Kok (RTHK, SCMP, HKFP).

21 June:

• 4 men, aged 18- 40, were sentenced to 5-8 months of jail (the ones aged 32 & 40) and rehabilitation centre (the ones aged 18 & 19) for property damage and possession of offensive weapon on 9 December, 2019 in Sheng Shui (Stand News).

18 June:

• Next Digital CEO and executive director, Cheung Kim-hung, Apple Daily editor-in-chief, Ryan Law Wai-kwong, Next Digital chief financial officer, Royston Chow Tat-kuen, Apple Daily associate publisher, Chan Pui-man and Apple Daily digital director, Cheung Chi-waim were arrested for violating the national security law (SCMP, HKFP, The Standard, RTHK).

• A man, aged 34, was sentenced to 6 months of jail for disorderly conduct in a public place. He shouted in Chai Wan on 11 November 2019 (Stand News).

• A museum worker, aged 43, was sentenced to 6 months of jail for obstruction of police. He posted a picture of an officer of the Police Tactical Unit on social media (Stand News).

• A man, aged 24, was sentenced to 4 months of jail for assaulting a pro-police soccer player in October 2019 in Yuen Long (Stand News).

17 June:

• A man, aged 24, was sentenced to 5 months of jail for possession of offensive weapon on 8 September 2019 in Price Edward. He had a laser pointer. (Standard News).

12 June:

• At least 3, aged 14-19, were arrested for disorderly conduct in a public place (RTHK).

11 June:

• Localist group Student Politicism convenor, Wong Yat-chin, and spokeswoman Alice Wong were arrested for allegedly inciting others to participate in an unlawful assembly and publicising and publishing an unauthorised assembly (RTHK, HKFP, The Standard, SCMP).

10 June:

• A district councillor assistant, aged 32, was sentenced to 8 months of jail for possession of laser pointer (Stand News).

• A construction worker, aged 24, was sentenced to 6 weeks of jail for possession of anything with intent to destroy or damage property in Admiralty on 24 May 2019. He had a wrench, a pair of scissors, and cable ties (Stand News).

8 June:

• 2 men, aged 23 & 20, were sentenced to 9 months of jail for possession of offensive weapon and anything with intent to destroy or damage property such as a plier, a wrench, a lighter and a gas cartridge on 27 May 2019 in Wong Tai Sin (Stand News).

4 June:

• Vice-chair of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, Chow Hang-tung, was arrested for allegedly publicising the banned assembly (HKFP, The Standard).

• At least 6, aged 20 to 75, were arrested on suspicion of inciting others to participate in an unauthorised assembly, ordinary assault, disorderly conduct in a public place and obstruction of police (SCMP).

• 3 men, aged 16, 20 and 22, were sentenced to 2-4 months of jail and rehabilitation centre for unlawful assembly and assaulting a police officer in Kowloon Bay on 28 December 2019 (Stand News).

• A student, aged 20, was sentenced to 3 weeks of jail for yelling “block the police!” on 27 May 2019 in Mong Kok (Stand News).

3 June:

• 4 men and 1 woman including Owen Au, the former lead of Chinese University of Hong Kong Student Union, were sentenced to 6-8 months of jail for unlawful assembly, covering faces, and assaulting police officers in Mong Kok on 20 October 2019 (Stand News, HKFP).

2 June:

• A men, aged 25, was sentenced to 6 weeks of jail for throwing a water bottle at the police’s frontline on 10 May, 2019 in Mong Kok (Stand News).

31 May:

• Activist, Alexandra Wong, aged 65, was arrested for unlawful assembly. She marched alone in Wan Chai (SCMP).

28 May:

·       Former legislators Albert Ho, Lee Cheuk-yan, Leung Kwok-hung and Civil Human Rights Front convenor Figo Chan were sentenced to 18 months of jail for unlawful assembly. Apple Daily founder Jimmy Lai, ex-lawmakers Cyd Ho and Yeung Sum, and former League of Social Democrats chairman Avery Ng were sentenced to 14 months of jail also for unlawful assembly (RTHK, HKFP).

·       Lee Ho-ming, student, aged 21, was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months of jail for rioting and possessing a hiking stick in Tuen Mun on 21 September 2019 (RTHK, Stand News).

·       A student, aged 20, was sentenced to rehabilitation centre for property damage. He sprayed foam on gates in Wan Chai MTR station (Stand News).

27 May:

·       Cherie Yee, university student, aged 20, was sentenced to 10 weeks of jail for unlawful assembly on Halloween 2019 in Central (SCMP).

25 May:

·       A firefighter, aged 29, was sentenced to jail for 3 months for carrying a utility knife on 31 October 2019 (Stand News).

24 May:

·       A man, aged 21, was sentenced to 2 years and 10 months of jail for assaulting a police officer on 29 February 2020 in Mongkok (Stand News).

·       A street performer was arrested for performing a protest-related song in Central on 21 May 2021 (HKFP).

21 May:

·       A retiree, aged 67, was sentenced to 5 months and 2 weeks of jail for unlawful assembly on 18 November 2019 in Central (Stand News).

18 May:

·       A 22 year-old man, was sentenced to 28 months of jail for rioting and assaulting a police officer on 22 December 2019 in Central (Stand News).

17 May:

·       10,250 people were arrested and 2,500 were prosecuted since June 2019 for protest-related cases (HKFP).

·       A taxi driver, was sentenced to jail for 4 years for possessing petrol bombs in his taxi trunk on 20 October 2019 (HKEJ).

·       A member of League of Social Democrats, aged 24, was sentenced to 6 months of jail for assaulting a police office on 9 June 2019 Causeway Bay (Stand News).

·       A student, aged 14, was sentenced to Detention Centre for arson at DAB district councillor offices on 17 & 23 November 2019 (Stand News).

12 May:

·       A student, aged 20, was sentenced to rehabilitation centre for possessing a laser pointer and unlawful assembly on 24-25 September 2019 in Mongkok and Prince Edward (Stand News).

11 May:

·       Jawin Mok, university students, aged 23, was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months of jail for possessing petrol bombs in his flat in Wan Chai (Apple Daily, The Standard, RTHK).

·       A woman, aged 62, was arrested for providing a place for a 18 year-old man who is wanted for participating in a protest in September 2019 (RTHK).

·       A mentally challenged man, aged 19, was sentenced to rehabilitation centre for arson at the gate of a police station on 5 September 2019 (Stand News).

·       A cook, aged 21, was sentenced to 3 months of jail for possessing a bag of cable ties and a bottle of lighter fluid on 27 May 2020 in Central (Stand News).

10 May:

·       A 19 year-old student, 30 year-old film producer, 31 year-old engineer were sentenced to 3-5 months of jail for unlawful assembly on 24-25 September 2019 in Mong Kok (Stand News).

7 May:

·       A former Shantou University assistant professor was sentenced to 3 months of jail for disorderly conduct in a public place on 24 May 2020 in Causeway Bay. The 50 year-old chanted slogans and showed the 5 1 hand gesture (Stand News).

6 May:

·       Pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong and district councillors Lester Shum, Tiffany Yuen and Jannelle Leung, were sentenced to between 4 – 10 months of jail for taking part in a June 4 vigil (RTHK, HKFP, Aljazeera).

·       A human resources manager, aged 29, was sentenced to 7 weeks of jail for pointing a laser pointer at a police officer’s eyes for 1 second in Tsim Sha Tsui on 10 August 2019 (Stand News).

5 May:

·       3 males and 1 female, aged 20 – 39, were sentenced to 51-56 months of jail for rioting in Tsuen Wan on 1 October 2019 (RTHK, RTHK).

·       A cook, aged 50, was sentenced to 8 months of jail for possessing 3 laser pointers in Tsuen Wan on 12 November 2019 (Stand News).

4 May:

·       A  32 year-old cook, 24 year-old social worker, 26 year-old high school teacher were sentenced to 10-15 months of jail for unlawful assembly and false imprisonment of a woman they thought was a police officer in Mongkok on 7 July 2019 (Stand News).

3 May:

·       A ward attendant was sentenced to 10 weeks of jail for unlawful assembly on 12 November 2019 in Tin Shui Wai (Stand News).

27 April:

  • 21 people (13 males & 8 females), aged 17-41, were arrested for allegedly attempting to help protesters evade arrest at Polytechnic University in November 2019 (Apple Daily, RTHK).

23 April:

  •    Louis Lo, aged 29, a former member of Hong Kong National Front, was sentenced to 12 years of prison for possessing explosives (Apple Daily, SCMP).

  •   Leung Kai-lok, aged 34, decoration worker, was sentenced to 40 months for assault in Mong Kok in 2019 (SCMP).

  • Hui Pui-yee, aged 26, waitress, was sentenced to 3 years for a doxing campaign against the police during 2019 (SCMP, RTHK).

16 April:

  •   Jimmy Lai, aged 73, media tycoon of Next Media, was sentenced to 14 months in prison for unlawful assembly on 18 and 31 August 2019 (BBC).

14 April:

  • A renovation worker, aged 29, was sentenced to 3 months of jail for unlawful assembly in Causeway Bay on 24 May 2020 (Stand News)

  • To Wing-cheung, aged 60, retired civil servant, was sentenced to 40 days in prison for chanting solgans in Mong Kok during a protest on 12 June (RTHK).

  • Siu Lok-ting, aged 27, barista, was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for rioting and arson in Mong Kok on 22 September 2019 (SCMP).

13 April:

  •     Wong Kam-chuen, retiree, aged 60s, was sentenced to 42 months in prison for arson in March 2020 (RTHK).

  •   Joshua Wong, activist, was sentenced to 4 months in prison for unlawful assembly and violating the anti-mask law (Reuters).

9 April:

  •    10,242 people were arrested in connection with the anti-government protests with over 600 convicted and 2,521 charged (SCMP, RTHK).

7 April:

  • A boy, 15 year-old, who was shot by the police in 2019 in Yuen Long, was sent to a training centre for rioting (RTHK).

31 March:

  • Community officer Yau Man-king, 32, and railway technician Yip Man-leong, 25, were sentenced to 45 months in prison for rioting at Hong Kong International Airport on 13 August, 2019 (SCMP, Apple Daily).

  • Cook Ko Wing-hong, 25, and janitor Mak Hang-hung, 24, were sentenced to 13 months in prison for unlawful assembly (SCMP, Apple Daily).

  • Vocational school student, Choi Tsz-chung, 21, was sentenced to 4 years for rioting in Tsuen Wan on 25 August, 2019. He shone laser lights at officers (SCMP, Apple Daily).

  • Bartender, 20, was sentenced to 39 months in prison for rioting in Mong Kok between 2 and 3 November, 2019. He put garbage and other items onto two fires started by other protesters (SCMP, Apple Daily).

26 March:

  • A civil servant, aged 25, was arrested for suspicion of money laundering. She raised almost HK$4.6 million through crowdfunding to help people arrested during anti-government protests (SCMP).

24 March:

  • 8 of the 12 activists, including Andy Li, convicted of crossing into mainland waters illegally were sent back to Hong Kong and were arrested for colluding with foreign forces under the national security law. (SCMP, The Standard).

  • Li Chak-lam, aged 34, was sent to jail for nearly 4 years for rioting during a protest on 5 August, 2019. (SCMP).

  • Avery Ng, the Secretary General of the League of Social Democrats, was arrested for alleged assault. (HKFP, SCMP).

  • Stephen Ting, former top executive of Next Digital, was arrested for alleged fraud for violating the national security law (HKFP). He was the 100th arrest under the national security law (Bloomber).

1 March:

  • Leo Yau, lawyer representing defendants including Democrats Chung Kam-lun and Andrew Chiu outside of the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts (HKFP).

  • Tang, aged 29, was arrested for committing misconduct in a public place, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer after the police surrounded the street booth of Student Scholarism and the Hospital Authority Employees Alliance in Mong Kok and ordered them to disperse (HKFP).

28 February:

  • 53 individuals were formally charged with “conspiracy to subvert the state power” under the National Security Law, owing to their participation and organisation of the democratic primaries held last July in which over 600,000 Hong Kongers casted their votes.   • Wan Yiu-sing, an internet radio host, was arrested again for seditious intent, in breach of the Crimes Ordinance (RTHK).

  • Lo Chun-hei, aged 24, was sent to jail for three years and two months for possession of explosives (RTHK).

  • 3 men, aged 18-28, were arrested for illegal assembly and common assault during a protest against the government's "Lantau Tomorrow" project on 14 October 2018 (RTHK).

  • Szeto Ho-sun, aged 21, was sentenced to 3 months in prison for possession of offensive weapons. He carried two iron pipes in Sha Tin on 5 November, 2019 (RTHK).

  • Veteran activist Koo Sze-yiu, aged 74, was sentenced to 4 months in prison for desecrating the national flag (RTHK).

27 January:

  • Chan King-shing, aged 28, was sentenced to 2 months in prison for possessing prohibited weapons and articles with intent to damage property. He carried a flick knife and a lighter at the Hong Kong MTR station on 1 January, 2020 (RTHK).

26 January:

  • 3 Chinese University students (one of them a member of the student union) were arrested for suspicion of illegal assembly and assault (RTHK).

18 January:

  • Chan Cho-ho, in his 20s, was sentenced to 4 years in prison for rioting and possessing an unlicensed radio communication device on 31 August, 2019 (RTHK).

15 January:

  • Fong Chi-hung, aged 34, a firefighter was sentenced to 34 months in prison for carrying four Molotov cocktails in Mong Kok on 10 November, 2019 (RTHK).

  • 2 people, aged 17 and 25, were arrested for helping two suspects linked to the city's social unrest in November 2019 to flee the city (RTHK).

14 January:

  • 11 people (8 men and 3 women), aged 18 to 72, including Democratic Party district councillor and lawyer, Daniel Wong, were arrested for helping the 12 individuals to flee the city (RTHK).

  • Cheung Chin-man, aged 35, was sentenced to 7 months in prison for assaulting a police officer, unlawful assembly, and violation of the mask ban on 13 November 2019 in Central (RTHK).

  • 3 young people, aged 18-19, was sentenced to 3 months and 9 weeks in prison for assaulting police officer and possession of offensive weapons at Tin Shui Wai (RTHK).

  • A student, aged 21, was sentenced to 6 months in prison for resisting police in Tsim Sha Tsui on Christmas Eve 2019 (RTHK).

8 January

  • Amy Pat, Lai Yun-long and Ho Ka-lok were sentenced to 5.5 years in prison for rioting and assaulting at the airport in August 2019 (RTHK).

7 January

  • A student, aged 15, was sentenced to rehabilitation centre for arson in Tai Wai in January 2019 (RTHK).

  • A student, aged 18, was sentenced to rehabilitation centre for possession of a 55 cm retractable baton (RTHK).
