Hong Kong Watch visits Brussels to further develop EU advocacy work
Last week, Hong Kong Watch’s co-founder and Chief Executive Benedict Rogers and Research and Policy Advisor Megan Khoo visited Brussels to further develop our advocacy work in the EU.
We met with the European Commission, the European External Action Service and European Parliament staffers, discussing the Hong Kong government’s proposed Article 23 legislation, the trial of Jimmy Lai and lifeboat schemes for Hong Kongers in the EU.
Mr Rogers spoke about the dismantling of Hong Kong’s freedoms, rule of law and autonomy at a conference on the human rights crisis in China, organised by Human Rights Without Frontiers, at the Press Club in Brussels. The full text of his speech is available here.
The full conference can be watched here.
