Frank Müller-Rosentritt MdB becomes Hong Kong Watch's newest parliamentary patron

Today, Hong Kong Watch is delighted to announce the appointment of our newest European parliamentary patron: Frank Müller-Rosentritt MdB.

Frank Müller-Rosentritt is a Member of the German Bundestag in Berlin, of the FDP party, representing the Chemnitz constituency. He is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and Deputy Chairman of the ASEAN Parliamentary Group.

Frank Müller-Rosentritt has been a long time supporter of Hong Kong, in his capacity as the FDP's standing rapporteur on China and Asia, in addition to his role as a member of the Bundestag more broadly. He has spoken out about the situation in Hong Kong multiple times, on social media, giving statements, signing our open letters, and has been an active member of the Hong Kong Friendship Group in the Bundestag.

In September 2022, Frank Müller-Rosentritt met with Hong Kong Watch co-founder and Chief Executive Benedict Rogers, as well as research and policy advisor Anouk Wear to discuss the work and study opportunities for Hong Kongers in Germany, the recognition of the BNO passport, and the development of the relationship between Germany, China and Hong Kong.

Frank Müller-Rosentritt joins our growing list of patrons in the United States, Canada, Europe, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. Our Patrons are drawn from across the political spectrum, reflecting our cross-party and bipartisan approach.

Benedict Rogers, co-founder and Chief Executive of Hong Kong Watch, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Frank Müller-Rosentritt as a Patron of Hong Kong Watch. In his distinguished career in the German Bundestag, Mr Müller-Rosentritt has proven to be a dedicated and passionate advocate for Hong Kong and a close ally for us in our work, and we are excited to build on this in his new role as a Patron, to strengthen our voice for Hong Kong in Germany and in the European Union.”
