Lord Alton calls for an audit of Hong Kong officials’ assets in the UK

On 12 May, the UK House of Lords debated an urgent question from Lord Alton, a Patron of Hong Kong Watch, on the recent arrests of Cardinal Zen, Margaret Ng and others under the National Security Law in Hong Kong. Lord Alton called for an audit of Hong Kong officials’ assets, the suspension of trade and investment talks between UK and China, and noted that it is increasingly strange that neither Carrie Lam or John Lee are on UK sanctions list.
