As we mark the anniversary of the Hong Kong pro-democracy movement, Beijing has threatened to impose the National Security Law on Hong Kong. This act is an assault on the city's autonomy, rule of law and fundamental freedoms. In this webinar hosted by David Kilgour JD, one of Hong Kong Watch’s International Patron and former Secretary of State Asia-Pacific of Canada, Canadian Senators met with Hong Kong student leaders to show solidarity and discussed the motion to sanction China and Hong Kong officials responsible for human rights violations and the possibility of a lifeboat policy that may save lives.
